2 - Adrian Beltré –Los Angeles Dodgers–Third Base– Dominican Republic
Led the Major Leagues with 48 home runs and ranked among the league leaders in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.334, 4th), RBIs (121, 4th), hits (200, 4th), total bases (376, 2nd), extra-base hits (80, T-5th) and slugging percentage (.629, 4th). Tied the Major League record for homers in a season by a third baseman (Mike Schmidt, 1980) and was also a Silver Slugger winner as the best offensive third baseman in the National League. Became the first Dodger to lead the National League in home runs since Duke Snider (43) in 1956 and first Dodger to lead the Majors in homers since Brooklyn's Tim Jordan (12) in 1908. Committed just 10 errors all year, surpassing his previous low in errors for a season (13), which he set in 1998 when he appeared in just 77 games for the Dodgers. He led the Majors with 26 homers in the second half.

The San Francisco Giants were quick in signing Armando Benitez this off season. Benitez established a franchise record with 47 saves for the Florida Marlins this year, also a personal best, in 51 opportunities. Opponents hit .152 off him, and he gave up 11 runs (10 earned) in 69 2/3 innings. He earned a trip to the All-Star Game and tied for 24th all-time in saves with Dan Quisenberry at 244. His save percentage of 86.1 is fourth all-time (among pitchers with a minimum of 190 save opportunities).

3 – Armando Benítez –Gigantes de San Francisco- Cerrador –República Dominicana
Los Gigantes de San Francisco firmaron a Armando este año con gran rapidez. Benítez estableció una marca para los Marlins con 47 juegos salvados en 51 oportunidades, su mejor marca. After playing for the Braves, he returned to the Rockies after a four-season absence and led the National League in RBIs with 131 while earning Rockies MVP honors from the Denver chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. Connected on his 1,620th career hit on July 7 in San Francisco to pass Jorge Orta for most hits by a Mexican-born player in Major League history. Also leads all countrymen in runs, home runs, doubles, RBIs, extra-base hits and total bases. Became the first player in Rockies history to hit at least 30 home runs in six seasons on September 5. Knocked 21 of his 35 home runs away from Coors Field. Hit his 300th career home run and posted his 1,000th RBI on the same swing, which went for the second of his two homers at Arizona on Sept. 13. Knocked a career-high 43 doubles. Was error-free for the season's final 79 games of the season.

4 – Vinny Castilla –Rockies de Colorado -Tercera Base - México

5 - Vladimir Guerrero –Anaheim Angels–Right Field - Dominican Republic
The American League MVP also voted by his teammates as the team’s most valuable player receiving the Gene Autry Trophy in his first season with Angels. Guerrero led the AL with 124 runs, which set a new club record, also led AL with 366 total bases, which tied club record with Garret Anderson in 2000. His .337 batting average set a club record for a right-handed batter and his 126 RBIs are the third-most in a season in club history. Hit .536 (15-for-28) with 10 runs scored, three doubles, six home runs and 11 RBIs over final seven games to help Angels overcome three-game deficit and win the AL West. Batted .371 (39-for-105) with 24 runs scored, six doubles, a triple, 10 home runs and 23 RBIs in September and was named AL Player of the Month. Made fifth All-Star appearance and finished 1-for-4 in Houston. Nine RBIs on June 2 were most in Major League game this season. Was also a Silver Slugger award winner.

5 – Vladimir Guerrero- Angelinos de Anaheim –Jardinero – República Dominicana

Hizo su quinta aparición en el juego de estrellas y terminó con un hit en 4 turnos. El 2 de Junio impulsó 9 carreras, lo máximo para un jugador esta temporada. También fue otorgado el premio “Silver Slugger”.
 

6 - Melvin Mora –Baltimore Orioles-Third Base-Venezuela
Led the American League in on-base percentage and was second to Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki in batting average. His .340 clip shattered Ken Singleton's 27-year-old record for average in a season by an Oriole. He also had career highs in homers and RBIs and won the silver slugger award for the best offensive third baseman in the American League. Was AL Player of the Month in May with a .402 average, eight homers and 23 RBI’s.

6 – Melvin Mora –Orioles de Baltimore –Tercera Base-Venezuela
El líder en la liga Americana en porcentaje en base, y fue segundo en bateo detrás de Ichiro Suzuki de Seattle. Su promedio de .340, fue el mejor para un Oriole, rompiendo la marca de 27 años de Ken Singleton. 7 - David Ortiz –Boston Red Sox-Designated Hitter– Dominican Republic
Everyone agrees that without David Ortiz the Boston Red Sox would have not been in the World Series. He single handedly beat the Yankees and was awarded the American League Championship series Most Valuable Player. “Papi” the nickname given to him by his loyal following in Boston had a big daddy of a year with 41 hr, 139 RBI’s, slugging percentage of .603 and also 47 doubles. He hit .301, had 175 hits and won the Silver Slugger award as a designated hitter.

7 – David Ortiz –Medias Rojas de Boston – Bateador Designado- República Dominicana
Todos sabemos que sin David Ortiz los Medias Rojas de Boston no hubieran ganado la Serie Mundial. El casi solo derrotó Yankees de Nueva York y le dieron el premio de jugador Más Valioso de la serie de campeonato de la Liga Americana. Los fanáticos de Boston le dieron el apodo de “papi” lo que si es verdad fue que tuvo un gran año con 41 cuadrangulares, 139 carreras impulsadas, un porcentaje de slugging de .603, conectó 47 dobles. Bateó para .301 con 175 incogibles y ganó el premio “Silver Slugger” como bateador designado.

8 - Albert Pujols –St. Louis Cardinals- First Base- Dominican Republic
Pujols became the first player in history with 30 or more homers in each of his first four seasons, and the third player with 500 RBIs in his first four years. Pujols led the National League in extra-base hits and total bases, and improved his walk and strikeout totals for the third straight year. His 46 home runs were a career high, had 123 RBI’s hit .331 led the league in runs scored with 133 and you guessed it, won the Silver Slugger award.

8 – Albert Pujols –Cardenales de San Luis- Primera Base- República Dominicana
Pujols, se convirtió en le primer jugador en la historia de Grandes Ligas en conectar 30 HR en sus primeras cuatro temporadas y el tercer jugador en la historia que impulsa 500 carreras en sus primeros cuatro años. Pujols, fue líder en extra bases en la Liga Nacional y total de bases, mejoro en bases por bolas y se ponchó menos en su tercer año consecutivo. Sus 46 cuadrangulares fueron lo máximo en su carrera y impulso 123, bateó .331, fue líder en carreras anotadas con 133 y ganó el premio “Silver Slugger”.

9 - Manny Ramírez –Boston Red Sox – Left Field- Dominican Republic
At the start of the year there were no takers for Manny’s big contract, Boston could not give him away. As it turned out, Ramirez became a bargain this year as he helped Boston capture its first World Series in 86 years. He was named the World Series MVP. Ramirez also had 43 HR to lead the American League, 130 RBI’s, 108 runs scored and a .308 batting average. Had a .613 slugging percentage plus he won the Silver Slugger award.

9 - Manny Ramírez- Medias Rojas de Boston – Jardinero - República Dominicana
Al comienzo de la temporada nadie quería el contrato de Manny Ramírez, los Medias Rojas de Boston no podían cambiarlo a ningún equipo. Al final de la temporada Ramírez fue un baratillo para Boston ayudándolo a conseguir el banderín que lo había eludido por 86 años. Fue nombrado el jugador más valioso de la serie mundial. Ramírez también conecto 43 cuadrangulares para ser el líder en la Liga Americana, 130 carreras impulsadas, 108 carreras anotadas y un promedio de .308. Un porcentaje de slugging de .613 y ganó el premio de “Silver Slugger”.

10 - Mariano Rivera –New York Yankees – Closer -Panamá
During the playoffs, Mariano suffered a severe lost when his brother in law and nephew were electrocuted in his home in Panama, but before this unfortunate accident Mariano had one of his best years. He was 4-2 with a 1.94 ERA and a single-season franchise-record 53 saves in career-high 74 relief appearances. He led the Major-Leagues with his 53 saves and was tied for fourth in the American League with his 74 appearances. Has a franchise-record 336 saves. Is the Yankees' all-time leader in games pitched with 586. Was selected to the 2004 American-League All-Star Team, his sixth career All-Star selection (1997, 1999-'02, 2004).Established an A.L. record with 32 saves before the All-Star break.

10 - Mariano Rivera – Yankees de Nueva York- Cerrador -Panamá
Durante la postemporada Mariano sufrió la pérdida de su cuñado y sobrino cuando fueron electrocutados en su casa en Panamá, pero antes de este terrible accidente Mariano tuvo una de sus mejores temporadas. Tenia marca de 4-2 con un promedio efectividad de 1.94 ERA y la nueva marca para la franquicia de juegos salvados con 53, participo en 740 juegos. El líder en juegos salvados en Liga Americana con 53 y empató en el cuarto lugar con 74 apariciones en relevo. Tiene la marca de la franquicia de 336 juegos salvados, también es el líder de todos los tiempos en juegos lanzados para los Yankees con 586. Fue seleccionado al equipo de estrellas para la Liga Americana, su sexta selección también fue seleccionado en el (1997, 1999-02, 2004). Estableció una marca de 32 salvados antes del juego de estrellas.

11 - Iván Rodríguez –Detroit Tigres – Catcher- Puerto Rico
After having a memorable 2003 winning the World Series with the Marlins, Rodriguez settled in quickly with the Tigers. For most of the year he led the league in avg. and finished with a .334. He hit .500 in June, becoming the first Major Leaguer to do so in a calendar month with at least 70 at-bats since Todd Helton in May 2000. The following month, he became the first Tiger to start in an All-Star Game since Cecil Fielder in 1991. Rodriguez's .334 batting average placed him fourth in the American League, while his .361 average with runners in scoring position ranked second. One of the best defensive catchers in the Majors and also a recipient of the silver slugger award.

11 – Iván Rodríguez –Tigres de Detroit – Receptor- Puerto Rico
Después de un memorable 2003 donde gano la Serie Mundial con los Marlins, Rodríguez firmó con los Tigres, durante gran parte de la temporada fue líder en bateo y terminó con promedio de .334. Bateó para .500 en el mes de junio, siendo el primer jugador en hacer esta hazaña desde que lo hizo Todd Helton en mayo de 2000. 12 - Johan Santana –Minnesota Twins- Left Handed Pitcher – Venezuela
The Cy Young winner in the American League, finished with a 2.61 ERA best in the American League. His 265 strike outs were number one in the AL. Named American League Pitcher of the Month for July, going 3-2, 1.17 (46.0-IP, 8-ER) in 6 starts, allowing 14 hits while striking out 61 (club record for July) and holding opponents to a .095 (14-147) batting-average-against. Also named American League Pitcher of the Month for August, going 6-0, 2.08 (43.1 IP, 10-ER) with 7 walks and 52 strikeouts; named American League Player of the Week, September 13-19 , career-high 14 strikeouts, September 19 vs. Baltimore; set club record with 13 consecutive wins, September 24 at Cleveland; named American League Pitcher of the Month for September, going 5-0, 0.45 (40.0 IP, 2-ER) with 7 walks and 52 strikeouts, becoming first pitcher since Pedro Martínez (1999) to win the award three times in one season, also a 20 game winner.

12 – Johan Santana – Mellizos de Minnesota- Lanzador – Venezuela

También fue nombrado el lanzador del mes de agosto en la liga, terminó con marca de 6-0, 2.08 (43.1 entradas lanzadas, 10- carreras limpias), caminó a 7 ponchó a 52, del 13 a 19 de septiembre fue nombrado el jugador de la semana, ponchando a 14 el 19 de septiembre frente a Baltimore, obtuvo la marca del equipo con 13 victoria en forma consecutiva. El lanzador del mes de septiembre en la Liga Americana con marca de 5-0, 0.45 (40.0 entradas lanzadas, 2-carreras limpias) caminó a 7, ponchó a 52 convirtiéndose en el primer lanzador en ganar el premio tres veces en una temporada desde que lo hizo Pedro Martínez en el 1999. Ganador de 20 juegos.

13 - Miguel Tejada –Baltimore Orioles – Shortstop- Dominican Republic
Had an amazing first season with the Orioles, smashing the club record for RBI’s in a season with 150 which was also the best in the Major Leagues. Set personal career highs in slugging percentage (.534) and on-base percentage. He was twice named AL Player of the Week and won the team's Most Valuable Player award. Hit two homers in a game twice, May 9 against Cleveland and Sept. 18 against Minnesota. Winner of the Silver slugger award, had 203 hits, 40 doubles and 107 run scored. Always reaching out to his Latin community, he played a couple of games for the Aguilas Cibaeñas in the Dominican League.

13 – Miguel Tejada –Orioles de Baltimore – Paracorto- República Dominicana
Su primera temporada con los Orioles fue increíble. Destrozó la marca de carreras impulsadas de los Orioles con un total de 150, que fue lo mejor en las Grandes Ligas. Tuvo su mejor año en (.534) y porcentaje en base. Dos veces fue seleccionado el jugador de la semana y el jugador más valioso del equipo. Conectó dos cuadrangulares en dos partidos el 9 de mayo frente a Cleveland y el 18 de septiembre frente a Minnesota . Conectó 203 hits, 40 dobles y anotó 107 carreras, ganó el premio “Silver Slugger” y claro nos honra con su presencia todos los años en la liga invernal de la República Dominicana.
