LOS ANGELES — Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilége on Sept. 24 honored shortstop Erick Aybar of the Los Angeles Angels as part of its Hennessy All-Star Series, which celebrates exemplary Latinos in sports who “Never stop. Never settle.”
The slick-fielding Aybar, from Bani, Dominican Republic, was cited for his leadership, dedication and grit. He was an American League All-Star in 2014 and won a Gold Glove in 2011.
The event, at Mastro’s Ocean Club in Newport Beach, Calif., included such guests as Angels owner Arte Moreno, the first Mexican-American to own an MLB team, teammate Mike Trout, Olympic Champion Felix Sanchez, TV personality Julissa Bermudez and radio personality Mando Fresko of Power 106 FM.
Guests enjoyed the “Aybar,” a signature V.S.O.P Privilége cocktails named for the veteran shortstop:
