NEWS: Jose Ramirez on verge of joining rare 300 HR/300 SB club

As José Ramírez continues to build a Hall of Fame–caliber résumé, his solid start to the 2026 season has placed him in rare company in baseball history.

The Cleveland Guardians star has already recorded more than five home runs and 10 or more stolen bases within his team’s first 23 games, becoming just the ninth player since 1900 to reach that milestone.

The exclusive list includes current stars Oneil Cruz (2025), Elly De La Cruz (2024), Hall of Famers Joe Morgan and Lou Brock, and Cesar Cedeno.

At 33, Ramírez is also the oldest player ever to accomplish the feat, underscoring both his durability and unique blend of power and speed.

The third baseman is also on the verge of another historic benchmark. With 291 homers and 297 steals, he’ll soon be one of the few players in MLB history to reach 300 career home runs and 300 stolen bases. The 300-300 club includes Barry Bonds (762 HR, 514steals), Willie Mays, Andrew Dawson, Bobby Bonds, Reggie Sanders, Steve Finley, Alex Rodriguez and newly minted Hall of Fame Carlos Beltran.

As he continues to produce at an elite level, Ramírez is not just carrying Cleveland’s offense—he’s cementing his place among the most complete players of his generation.
