NEWS: Yankees’ Jasson Dominguez may get call-up with latest Giancarlo Stanton injury

Jasson Dominguez may finally get his call-up to the Majors.

Yankees DH Giancarlo Stanton’s latest injury setback in the Friday game against the Astros created an unexpected opportunity for Dominguez, one of the organization’s most intriguing young talents.

Stanton, who has battled a string of lower-body injuries in recent seasons, is now facing another stint on the injured list with a calf issue, leaving a significant power void in the middle of the Bombers’ lineup.

That absence could open the door for Domínguez, the highly touted switch-hitting outfielder nicknamed “The Martian.” Domínguez has been productive in the minors this season, hitting over .300 with 3 homers, 13 RBI and 8 stolen bases for the Scranton Wilkes/Barre RailRiders, the Yanks’ Triple-A team, as of this weekend.

His improved plate discipline and consistent contact have been encouraging signs for a player once viewed as a future star, but who didn’t make the New York roster this season after a disappointing 2025 when his poor defense and weakness as a righty hitter made him odd man out in the crowded outfield.

With Stanton possibly facing time on the injured list yet again, the timing may finally align for Dominguez to prove to fans and the front office he belongs in the Bigs.
